Nurturing the Nurse was created from a simple but deeply important belief: nurses deserve support too.

I’m Kelly Dubowski, MSN, RN, Holistic Nurse Coach, and founder of Nurturing the Nurse. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing in Holistic Nurse Coaching and have worked across psychiatric nursing, substance use treatment, trauma recovery, and now nurse well-being.

Through my own experience with burnout and years of listening to nurses, I began noticing the same pattern: nurses are deeply skilled at caring for others, yet many quietly carry emotional exhaustion, chronic stress, nervous system overwhelm, and a deep disconnection from themselves.

Healthcare teaches nurses how to provide care. Very few are taught how to receive it.

Nurturing the Nurse exists to help nurses and nursing students find their way back home to themselves.

Back home to their bodies.
Back home to their nervous systems.
Back home to the parts of themselves they may have learned to disconnect from in order to keep functioning.

Our work helps nurses slow down safely, recognize when they are carrying too much, reconnect with their needs, and build a more sustainable relationship with nursing and life outside of those caring roles.

We currently support nurses through:

• restorative workshops and guided experiences
• burnout education and advocacy
• organizational wellness strategy, consulting, and partnerships

At the heart of this work is the understanding that nurses are not machines built for endless output. They are human beings carrying immense emotional, mental, physical, and relational responsibility.

Supporting nurse well-being is no longer an option. It is the essential foundation to the future of healthcare.

Because there is no sustainable healthcare system without the well-being of the nurses holding it together.
