Tom Pearce

Tom Pearce has a long and varied work experience. Tom began their career in 1997 as a Finance and Commercial Executive at MVC Retail (Kingfisher Group). Tom then moved to THE Games (John Menzies) in 1999 as a Commercial Finance Analyst. In 2001, they joined Nintendo UK as a Finance Manager, and was promoted to Finance and Commercial Controller in the same year. In 2015, Tom moved to Seiko UK Limited as Head of Finance, I.T., Legal and Customer Service. Tom was responsible for all aspects of the financial running of the UK operation, including financial and management accounting disciplines, as well as mentoring and managing 20+ staff across three disciplines. Tom was also a member of the senior management team, responsible for delivering key strategic projects. In 2018, Tom joined Tech21 as Acting Chief Financial Officer, and then moved to NURVV in the same year as Chief Financial Officer. During their time at NURVV, they successfully led a Series A company fund raise in 2020 (\u00a32. 5m), secured additional investment into the business through the UK Governments Future Fund Scheme in Aug 2020 (\u00a33m), as well as a CBILS loan in April 2021 (\u00a31. 5m). Tom also rolled out the successful launch of a completely new ERP platform (Access Supply Chain), including the complete integration of the company\u2019s web platform to ensure accurate real-time accounting records, and full integration into company\u2019s 3rd party logistics providers in US / UK. Additionally, they set up a US entity from both a legal and financial perspective, and managed the company\u2019s cashflow forecasts with weekly reviews taking place at a senior management level to ensure total transparency and accountability.

Tom Pearce obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Brighton between 1993 and 1997. Prior to that, they studied Accounting and Business/Management (A-Levels, grade A) at Exeter College from 1990 to 1992. Tom also holds a Cima certification in Accounting and Finance from CIMA.
