Robert Stewart

Nuclear Engineering Consultant (part-time)

Robert Stewart is a professor of Radiation Oncology and a medical physicist at the University of Washington, where they have significantly advanced patient care through engineering, science, and radiation biophysics. They have led the development of intensity modulated neutron therapy (IMNT), a novel treatment modality, and since its introduction in 2022, it has successfully treated over 100 cancer patients. Currently, Stewart also serves as a part-time nuclear engineering consultant at Nusano, focusing on Monte Carlo simulations and radioisotope therapies. Their extensive research in radiation biology has resulted in a well-cited publication record, and they are deeply committed to education and mentorship, inspiring the next generation of scientists and clinicians. Stewart earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from Kansas State University.
