Sibao Chen

Sibao Chen is the current Director of Formulation Sciences at Nuvalent. Prior to Nuvalent, Chen was with Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc. for 6 years where they served as Director of Pharmaceutical Development and then Associate Director of Formulation Development. In this role, Chen led formulation development for Brand products (NDAs for oral films and DETERx Abuse Deterrent Technologies). Prior to Collegium, Chen spent 6 years and 7 months at Rhodes Pharmaceuticals L.P., Purdue Pharma as a Project Lead, Senior Research Scientist, and Formulation Scientist. In this role, Chen was responsible for leading projects from R&D to technical transfer, and eventually commercialization (ANDA/NDA), Formualtion development and technical transfer for both Generic and Brand products. Before Rhodes, Chen worked at Sandoz for 2 years as a Scientist II in Pharmaceutical Development where they were responsible for Product Development in Solid Dosage Forms (IR, DR, ER Tablets, Capsules and Pellets). Prior to Sandoz, Chen worked at Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Inc. for 2 years as a Research Scientist in Transdermal Drug Delivery Systems. Chen started their career as a PhD student at North Dakota State University on a Presidential Fellowship before becoming a Research Associate at Shanghai Institue of Pharmaceutical Industry (SIPI) for 2 years and 5 months.

Sibao Chen received a PhD from North Dakota State University in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2005. Prior to that, they completed a Presidential Fellowship at the same school from 2001-2005. Sibao also attended Shenyang Pharmaceutical University for their education in Pharmaceutics from 1995-1998 and 1991-1995.
