NUWARD
Mathieu Scherer is a seasoned professional in the field of construction and engineering, currently serving as the Pre-Construction Planning Manager at NUWARD since September 2023, overseeing construction sequencing and constructability for the NUWARD 340 MWe Small Modular Reactors. Previous experience includes a significant tenure at Bechtel Corporation from January 2009 to August 2023, where Mathieu held multiple leadership roles, including Sr Constructability Manager for the Intel Semiconductor Mega-Factory project in Germany, and led constructability efforts for the Hinkley Point C nuclear project. Additional responsibilities included business development for nuclear engineering, quality systems engineering, and senior structural engineering for major projects such as the New Safe Confinement at Chernobyl. Mathieu also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at IÉSEG School of Management in early 2023. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Structural Earthquake Engineering from UCLA and a Diplome d'ingénieur in Civil Engineering from École Spéciale des Travaux Publics.

NUWARD
The NUWARD SMR is targeting to replace old high CO2-emitting coal, fuel, oil and gas plants around the world as well as offering the capability of supporting other usages such as hydrogen production, urban and district heating or desalination. Based on proven PWR technology, it is a 340MWe plant with two reactors of 170MWe each. Led by the NUWARD company, the project relies on the skilled and valued contributions of EDF, CEA, Naval Group, TechnicAtome, Framatome and Tractebel.
