Human Factors & Ergonomics Lead at NUWARD

Stanislas Couix is currently serving as the Human Factors & Ergonomics Lead at NUWARD since October 2023, where responsibilities include leading the HF team and conducting studies related to function allocation, human-machine interaction, control room design, and staffing. Previously, from November 2012 to September 2023, Stanislas worked as a Researcher in Human Factors & Ergonomics at EDF R&D, and prior to that, served as a Human Factors & Ergonomics expert at PIXYS S.A. from March 2012 to September 2012, focusing on workplace design. Stanislas began involvement in research as a PhD Student and Research Intern at EDF R&D from March 2008 to February 2012, where a thesis was completed on the collaboration between ergonomists and engineers during the design of computer-based systems. The academic background includes a PhD in Ergonomics from Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (2008-2012) and a Master's degree in Ergonomics from Université Paris Cité (2006-2007).

NUWARD

The NUWARD SMR is targeting to replace old high CO2-emitting coal, fuel, oil and gas plants around the world as well as offering the capability of supporting other usages such as hydrogen production, urban and district heating or desalination. Based on proven PWR technology, it is a 340MWe plant with two reactors of 170MWe each. Led by the NUWARD company, the project relies on the skilled and valued contributions of EDF, CEA, Naval Group, TechnicAtome, Framatome and Tractebel.
