Chris Torrence

Chris Torrence is a highly experienced software engineer and engineering director with a strong background in leading software development teams and projects. Currently serving as Lead Software Engineer at NV5 Geospatial since April 2022 and Director of Engineering at 1010 Technologies LLC since December 2019, Chris has guided the development of educational products and maintained various software applications. Previous positions include Software Development Manager at the National Snow and Ice Data Center, where Chris managed a team of 14 software developers, and Project Team Lead at Harris Geospatial, focusing on IDL software. Additionally, Chris contributed as a part-time STEM instructor at Summit Charter Middle School. An academic background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a BA in Physics and Astronomy from Cornell University.
