Liz Phipps

Liz Phipps currently serves as Vice President and Southeast Director of Transportation at NV5, a position held since September 2022. Liz has extensive experience in the engineering field, including serving as National Director for the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina since July 2017 and as a Board Member-Structural Engineer for the NC Licensing Board of General Contractors since April 2021. Prior to these roles, Liz held various positions at KCI Technologies, Inc., including Transportation Structures Practice Leader, Project Manager, and Design Engineer Supervisor from August 2002 to September 2022. Liz also worked at Transite Consulting Engineers as a Project Manager and at Dewberry & Davis as a Project Engineer, focusing on bridge design. Early career experience includes a role as Transportation Engineer I at NCDOT in the Traffic Engineering and Structure Design Units. Liz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earned between 1988 and 1993.
