Aleksandr Laptev

Aleksandr Laptev is a Senior Research Scientist at NVIDIA since April 2021, specializing in the development of ASR model training methods within the NeMo team. Prior to this role, Aleksandr served as a Speech Research Scientist at STC group from September 2018 to March 2021, where notable contributions included the creation of hybrid speech recognition models for several languages using the Kaldi Speech Recognition Toolkit and enhancements to the WFST decoding algorithm. Additionally, Aleksandr worked as a Data Scientist at EORA between September 2018 and October 2019, focusing on data science and machine learning tasks. Aleksandr holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from ITMO University, a Master of Science from Innopolis University, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Novosibirsk State University.
