Carl Putterman

Carl (Izzy) Putterman is currently a Member of Technical Staff at Anthropic, where they have been contributing since 2026. Previously, they worked as a Senior Deep Learning Algorithm Engineer and Deep Learning Algorithm Engineer at NVIDIA from 2021 to 2026. Prior to that, Carl conducted research at the University of California, Berkeley's AUTOLab from 2019 to 2021, where they developed an innovative imitation learning model and applied deep learning methods to quantum many-body problems. They also had a brief tenure as a Machine Learning Researcher at Aalto University School of Science and Technology in 2019. Carl earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2021.
