Dick Carter is a research computer scientist specializing in GPU programming and machine learning. Currently a Senior Deep Learning Software Development Engineer at NVIDIA, Carter focuses on enhancing the integration of NVIDIA technology into third-party frameworks. Previously, Carter spent a significant portion of their career at Hewlett Packard Labs, where they served as a Senior Hardware Engineer and Senior Research Scientist, contributing to RISC and VLIW architecture development and innovations in high-speed networking and reconfigurable computing. Following this, they were a Principal Research Computer Scientist at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, participating in the DARPA-funded SyNAPSE project and developing the open-sourced Cognitive Computing Toolkit. Carter is also pursuing degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as Computer Engineering at Stanford University.
