Mike Hamer

Mike Hamer is a Senior Systems Software & Control Engineer for Autonomous Vehicles at NVIDIA since October 2022, following a tenure as Head of Engineering at Fotokite from September 2019 to January 2022, where leadership was demonstrated over a department of 30 engineers and significant project management was implemented. Previous roles at Fotokite included leading the firmware engineering team and contributing to safety-critical component development. Mike holds a PhD in Scalable Localization and Coordination of Robotic Swarms from ETH Zürich, where research focused on ultra-wideband localization and machine learning optimization, alongside teaching roles that enhanced student engagement in engineering subjects. Educational background includes an MSc in Robotics, Systems & Control from ETH Zürich and dual degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Curtin University.
