Rui Shen

Rui Shen is a highly experienced professional in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, and autonomous vehicles perception. Currently serving as a Senior Manager and Principal Scientist at NVIDIA since 2021, Rui has previously held significant roles at Apple, where contributions included guiding R&D in deep neural networks and launching an on-device OCR API. As a Senior Computer Vision Scientist at VIPShop US, Rui led deep learning algorithm research focused on augmented reality applications and received the Excellent Employee Award in 2017. Earlier experience includes a role at Aptina, where Rui was the tech lead for a geometric camera calibration project for ADAS and developed a patented on-device camera pose estimation algorithm. Rui's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, where substantial contributions were made to augmented reality systems and advanced computational models.
