Sanjay Patel

Sanjay Patel is a distinguished technologist and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in R&D and technology startups, including three successful acquisitions. They served as Chief Technology Officer at Ageia Technologies, leading the development of the world's first physics co-processor and PhysX framework, before its acquisition by Nvidia in 2008. As CEO and co-founder of Personify, an immersive collaboration company acquired by Foxconn in 2019, they pioneered AI-driven virtual backgrounds for video meetings. Currently a Distinguished Senior Compute Architect at NVIDIA, Sanjay also holds a professorship in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they focus on applied parallel systems and GPU architecture. They hold both a Master’s degree and a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.
