Simon Butler

Simon Butler, PhD, possesses extensive experience in the fields of cyber security and information security, having held positions at various prestigious organizations. Notable roles include serving as a Senior Information Security Consultant at IBM and as a Cyber Security PhD Researcher at Royal Holloway, University of London, where accomplishments included ISO27001 certification efforts and research on internet regulatory practices. Prior to these roles, Simon worked as an Investigator and Intelligence Officer at the National Crime Agency, contributing to serious organized crime investigations, and delivered intelligence support as a Captain in the Royal Marines. Additional experiences include a Fellowship at Antler and the current position of Senior Consultant at NVISO Security, focusing on cyber strategy and architecture. Simon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Cyber Security and a Master's degree in Information Security, both from Royal Holloway, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Management Studies from the University of Leeds.
