Dan has been active in the technology industry for 35 years with a diverse set of experiences. As an engineer, he’s been involved in factory automation, aerospace, semiconductors, networking, software development as well as numerous data center technologies. As an executive, he’s divided his career between being a vendor, selling technologies into numerous verticals, and being a customer in many senior IT and general management roles, including as CTO of publicly traded Brocade from 2003-2008 (Acquired by Broadcom for $5.5 billion in 2017). As an entrepreneur, he’s had numerous successful projects in segments such as financial software, data center networking, high performance data storage, and enterprise mobile software including as a member of the founding team of StorageApps (Acquired by HP for $350M in 2001) and as the CEO of Whiptail (Acquired by Cisco for $415M in 2013). He has experience in both IPOs and M&A, having been acquired several times, been involved in venture finance, and has sat on the Board of Directors of numerous companies.
