Rusty Smith

Rusty Smith is an experienced aerospace professional with a demonstrated history in operations, quality management, and project management. Currently serving as the New Glenn Manager for Production Engineering at Blue Origin since October 2022, Rusty has also held senior roles at TECT Aerospace and Triumph Aerostructures, where significant achievements include reducing quality defects by over 65% and improving manufacturing flow efficiency. Rusty's background encompasses roles as Operations Manager and Program Manager, ensuring compliance with international quality standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Prior experience includes leadership positions in the US Army and DynCorp International. Rusty holds an MBA in Organizational Leadership from Lipscomb University and a BBA from Austin Peay State University, supplemented by a Project Management Certificate from Villanova University.
