Mark Gobien

Mark Gobien has extensive experience in the field of nuclear waste management, currently serving as the Manager of Safety Assessment Integration at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization since July 2008. In this role, Mark oversees the coordination and preparation of safety cases for nuclear waste repositories, ensuring compliance with siting, design, and licensing requirements. Previous positions include Section Manager for Safety Assessment Models, where Mark led a team in developing advanced safety assessment models, and Senior Scientist/Engineer, focusing on the development of safety assessment tools and models. Mark began a career in research as a Summer Research Student at Queen's University, contributing to various projects and supporting first-year physics courses. Mark holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Physics from Queen's University, earned in 2008.
