Matt Herod

Matt Herod is a geoscientist with extensive experience in Canada's nuclear industry and currently serves as the Section Manager for Safety Case Integration at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization. Previously, they worked as a Senior Project Officer and Inspector at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, contributing to regulatory affairs and safety case development. Matt's academic background includes a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Ottawa, where they researched porewater chemistry for nuclear waste disposal. Earlier roles encompass positions at Presqu'ile Provincial Park as a Natural Heritage Interpreter and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ottawa.
