Postdoctoral Researcher At Neville Sanjana Lab at The New York Genome Center

Alba Corman is a postdoctoral researcher at New York Genome Center, working on a project focused on understanding the roles of chromatin modifiers and transcription factors in autism under the guidance of Neville Sanjana since July 2022. Previously, Alba completed a PhD at Karolinska Institutet from April 2017 to April 2022, where the thesis was supervised by Oscar Fernandez-Capetillo and Jordi Carreras-Puigvert, with research centered on cancer vulnerabilities related to nucleolar stressors. Prior to the PhD, Alba served as a lab assistant in the same lab, specializing in T-cell killing assays and high-throughput spheroid protocols, and conducted a master's thesis on the ubiquitin ligase SCF-FBXL12's role in DNA replication stress. Early academic experiences included a bachelor internship at Paula Alepuz Lab and participation in the iGEM competition, which resulted in a publication. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Valencia, a Master's degree in Molecular Biotechnology with a specialization in Systems Biology from the University of Skövde, and a PhD from Karolinska Institutet.
