Benjamin Straumann

Benjamin Straumann is an ERC Professor at the University of Zurich, leading the ERC-funded research project JustCity focused on the Ciceronian conception of justice. Additionally, Benjamin holds multiple academic titles at New York University, including Research Professor of Classics and Alberico Gentili Senior Fellow, and contributes as Co-Editor for the book series The History and Theory of International Law with Oxford University Press. Previous experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford and a traineeship at the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations. Benjamin's educational background includes a Habilitation and Ph.D. from the University of Zurich, studies at New York University School of Law, Columbia University, and Università degli studi Roma TRE.
