Gary Leist

Gary Leist is an experienced security professional currently serving as the Director of Global Safety Services at New York University, where they oversee security operations for academic centers in 11 countries. Previously, they held multiple senior roles at NYU, including Senior Director of Campus Safety, managing a substantial team and implementing strategies to enhance campus security. Prior to their time at NYU, Leist served in the United States Air Force, where they held various superintendent positions focused on logistics, security planning, and program management. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration, both at New York University.
