Michael Schmidt

Michael Schmidt is an accomplished professional in social work and healthcare with extensive experience in academia and leadership roles. Currently serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor at New York University since 1999, Michael teaches courses focused on society, mental health, and social work field experiences while overseeing clinical internships. As the Chief Executive Officer of the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey since 2021, Michael leads efforts to improve access to healthcare for vulnerable populations. Previous roles include Director of the American Jewish Committee in New York, Chief Operating Officer of the Council on Accreditation, and Vice President at the New York Foundation for Senior Citizens. Michael holds advanced degrees from Fordham University and Columbia University, as well as a degree from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
