Nasir Memon

Nasir Memon serves as the Dean of Computer Science, Data Science, and Engineering at New York University, Shanghai since September 2023. Memon is also an Affiliated Faculty member at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences (2010 - Present) and a Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where roles have included Vice Dean for Student and Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Online Learning, and Director of the Center for Cyber Security. Additionally, Memon was the founding director of the NYU Center for Cyber Security and has led the Information Systems and Internet Security (ISIS) Laboratory. As a co-founder of Digital Assembly (2006 - 2012), Memon contributed to advancements in file carving technology for data recovery and digital forensics. Prior academic experience includes positions at Northern Illinois University, Hewlett-Packard Company, and Arkansas State University. Memon holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and multiple degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
