Dr. Nolan Karp graduated from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1983 after obtaining a B.S. in medical science earlier. They completed general surgery training at New York University School of Medicine and underwent specialized training in plastic surgery, research fellowship, and microsurgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Since joining the faculty at NYU in 1992, Dr. Karp has progressed to the role of Professor of Plastic Surgery and Vice Chairman of the Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery. They specialize in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, focusing on techniques such as short-scar breast reduction and breast reconstruction following massive weight loss. Dr. Karp also leads research in 3D imaging and anesthesia techniques aimed at improving surgical outcomes.
