Stephen Gross

Assistant Professor

Stephen Gross is an Assistant Professor at New York University, where Stephen has been teaching since July 2012 in the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies and the department of History, focusing on contemporary theories of political economy, economic history, and 20th century comparative European history. Prior to this role, Stephen served as a Lecturer in International Area Studies at UC Berkeley from January 2010 to July 2012, where Stephen also advised students on their Senior Honors Theses. Earlier experience includes working as an Economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis within the US Department of Commerce, where Stephen established an Industry Account for measuring travel and tourism growth, and as an Economic Analyst at the same bureau, focusing on analysis post-9/11. Stephen's academic background includes a Ph.D and M.A. in European History from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. in History and Economics from the University of Virginia.
