Marcelo Schmidt

Marcelo Schmidt is a legal professional with extensive experience in various roles, including Consultor Especializado at PNUD Brasil and Advogado at Schmidt Advocacia. Prior positions include Coordenador at the Ministério da Justiça, where Marcelo managed initiatives related to judicial reform and penitentiary oversight, as well as serving as Chefe de Gabinete at the Departamento Penitenciário Nacional. Marcelo has held the role of Sócio at Aragão e Ferraro Advogados and currently at Schmidt Praxedes Advocacia. Additionally, experience includes serving as Assessor Jurídico at the Câmara dos Deputados. Marcelo is an active member of the OAB/DF commissions on Administrative and Electoral Law. Academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, specializations in Electoral Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais and in Legal-Political Sciences from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa, and currently pursuing a Master's degree in Constitutional Law at IDP.
