Neil Evans

Head of Credit Risk at OakNorth

Neil Evans is the current head of credit risk at OakNorth. Neil has over 18 years of experience in the banking industry, with a focus on credit policies. Neil began their career at the Royal Bank of Scotland in March 1996, where they eventually became the head of credit policies. In this role, they were responsible for defining, developing, and communicating new and full balance sheet coverage Sector/Asset class transactional lending policies for all SME/Corporate customers in the Corporate Banking Division (CBD). Neil also interpreted new Group Wholesale Credit Policy Standards and applied them by way of practical implementation and communication across all of CBD. In addition, they provided the link between Group Legal and operational units to define, update and amend facility and security documentation. Lastly, they provided challenge and advice to Front line management to evidence control and compliance with credit policies by way of assurance/evidence of sound credit processes. Neil Evans joined OakNorth in November 2014 and has been the head of credit risk since then.

Neil Evans studied stock trading at Stockport School. Neil did not receive any formal education beyond that.

Neil Evans reports to James Cashmore, Chief Risk Officer.
