Phil Coole

Phil Coole is an experienced compliance and financial crime prevention professional, currently serving as the MLRO and Head of Compliance at OakNorth Bank since August 2020. Previously, Phil held the position of Chairman at The Institute, a not-for-profit anti-financial crime network, from June 2015 to May 2023. Phil has extensive experience in the financial sector, including serving as Deputy MLRO at Investec Bank PLC, where responsibilities included developing financial crime frameworks and advising on high-risk cases. Prior roles include Senior Manager of Financial Crime Prevention at Lloyds Banking Group and Senior Associate at the Financial Conduct Authority, alongside earlier positions at Ernst & Young and the Valuation Office Agency. Phil holds a B.A. (Hons) in Classical Studies from Manchester University.
