Simon Johnson

Simon Johnson is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and management across various companies. As the MQTT (SN) Technical Committee Co-Chairman and Specification Editor at OASIS since September 2021, Simon leads the effort to publish a formal specification. Previously, Simon held the position of Principal Software Engineer at u-blox, where responsibilities included designing a distributed IoT messaging system and ensuring protocol specification conformance. Earlier roles include Engineering Manager and Architect at InMobi, where Simon oversaw the migration of a digital distribution platform, Engineering Manager at Metaflow, where Simon facilitated a successful acquisition, and Head of Engineering at Fox Johnson Solutions, integrating robust technology solutions for top-tier clients. Simon's career began as a Java Engineer at Elata Ltd and Qualcomm, following a Bachelor of Science in Computing from the University of Portsmouth.
