Remi Mateo

Remi Mateo is a seasoned professional with extensive experience across various roles focused on advocacy, instruction, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Chess Instructor for the Train of Thought Chess Program since October 2022, Remi also holds the position of Service Coordinator at Eastern Los Angeles Regional since January 2013, where responsibilities include analyzing consumer data, ensuring access to services, and advocating for social, legal, and educational issues related to individuals with developmental disabilities. Additionally, Remi has worked as an Outdoor Instructor for OUTWARD BOUND ADVENTURES, guiding inner-city youth in outdoor activities, and previously held positions such as Employment Specialist at the Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis, Travel Instructor at R&D Transportation Services, Inc., and Partnership Assistant/Crew Leader at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Remi's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from California State University, Northridge, and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Presidio Graduate School.
