Michael Mitchell

Michael Mitchell has extensive experience in volunteer management and engagement within prominent organizations. Currently serving as the Volunteer Manager for the Obama Foundation since August 2025, Michael is instrumental in developing a volunteer program for the upcoming Obama Presidential Center. Prior to this role, Michael held various leadership positions at the Art Institute of Chicago, including Director of Volunteers and Ryan Learning Center Operations, where oversight of volunteer recruitment and strategic engagement was key. Earlier experience includes managing volunteer resources at Rush North Shore Medical Center and serving as Associate Director of Volunteer Programs at the Art Institute of Chicago, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to volunteerism and visitor engagement. Michael holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Illinois Springfield.
