Ed Barkmeyer

Ed Barkmeyer is a seasoned consulting knowledge engineer at Thematix Partners since February 2015, specializing in capturing business concerns in formal ontologies and contributing to international standards in business and decision modeling. With over two decades of involvement with the Object Management Group (OMG) as Chair of various revision task forces and serving as the NIST Voting Representative, Ed has played a critical role in standards maintenance and management. Prior experience includes a position as a consulting computer scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from 1988 to January 2015, focusing on manufacturing software integration and knowledge representation. Ed's extensive work with standards organizations includes significant contributions to ISO/IEC JTC1 and ISO TC184/SC4, particularly in data modeling and the development of vocabularies. Ed holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.
