Karel Boakes

Karel Boakes is a seasoned professional in regulatory strategy and policy management, currently serving as the Regulatory Strategy & Policy Manager at Objective Corporation since July 2023. Prior to this role, Karel held various positions at Manawatu District Council, where tenure lasted from August 2009 to July 2023 as the Regulatory Manager, and at Palmerston North City Council from July 2004 to August 2009 as the Senior Building Officer specializing in Accreditation and Claims. Earlier career experiences include working as an Assistant Site Supervisor/engineer at LTA Natal Construction Ltd and as an Assistant Valuer at Cheltenham Borough Council. Karel Boakes obtained a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Building Management, Design and Construction from Northumbria University, completing studies from 1990 to 1994, and attended Pates Grammar School for Girls in Cheltenham, UK, from 1981 to 1989.
