Senior Scientific Analyst at OBXtek

David Jackson has a diverse work experience in various roles related to compliance, legal research, and international trade. David is currently working as a Senior Scientific Analyst at OBXtek since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Compliance Specialist at Muscogee International, LLC from August 2019 to November 2021.

From 2013 to 2019, David worked at PAE in multiple roles. David served as a Manager, Customs and Licensing where they advised the company on privacy and data security matters and developed information management policies. David also provided export compliance leadership for government contracts worldwide and established compliance guidance for Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) trainers.

Before joining PAE, David worked as a Senior Director, Customs and Industry Compliance at Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) in 2012. David also had a temporary assignment as a Contract Attorney at PAE where they provided legal research and drafting for a Voluntary Self Disclosure.

Earlier in their career, David worked as an Attorney at Lehrman Beverage Law, PLLC from 2011 to 2012 and at Miller & Company, P.C. from 2008 to 2010. At Miller & Company, they provided detailed import, export, and foreign-trade zone legal services and drafted prior disclosures involving significant import transactions.

David's work experience also includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Kansas School of Law from 2006 to 2007 and as an International Trade Assistant at the United States Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service for a summer internship program. David also served as an Associate Chief Justice at Traffic Court KU Court of Parking Appeals.

Overall, David Jackson has extensive experience in compliance, international trade, legal research, and policy development.

David Jackson completed their LL.M. in Agricultural and Food Law from the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained their JD in International Trade Law from the University of Kansas School of Law between 2005 and 2007. Additionally, they hold a BA in English from George Mason University, earned between 1989 and 1992.

In addition to their formal education, David Jackson has obtained several certifications. This includes completing a Data Science - Part Time Course from General Assembly in June 2017. David also holds certifications in CEH (obtained in October 2016), CISSP (obtained in July 2016), CIPP/US (obtained in June 2016), and a Licensed Customs Broker (obtained in November 2013) from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
