James Hunter

Senior Space Program Acquisition Analyst at OBXtek

James Hunter has a diverse work experience in the defense and scientific research sectors. James most recently worked at OBXtek as a Senior Space Program Acquisition Analyst since October 2020. Prior to that, they served as a Branch Chief at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency from December 2009 to August 2021, where they represented the agency in Defense Acquisition Board and Joint Requirements Oversight Council meetings. From December 2017 to September 2018, they were a Senior Acquisition Analyst at the Secretary of the Air Force/Headquarters Air Force. James also held the position of Director at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research from July 2005 to December 2009, where they led a 77-person directorate and executed a $700M USAF basic research portfolio.

James Hunter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the United States Air Force Academy. James attended this institution from 1988 to 1992. Furthermore, they hold a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology-Graduate School of Engineering & Management, where they studied from 1994 to 2005.
