Lawrence Lao

Lawrence Lao currently serves as AVP of Digital Ecosystems, Unsecured Lending, and Payments at OCBC Bank since May 2023. Prior to this role, Lawrence was the Retail Lending Lead at SeaMoney from May 2021 to June 2022. From September 2011 to May 2021, Lawrence held various positions at Standard Chartered Bank, including Product Manager for Bancassurance, where responsibilities included overseeing a digital insurance platform and sales; Associate Director for Personal Segment; and Associate Director for Segment Proposition, Retail Clients Singapore, leading the launch of the MyWay Deposit Account and the Priority Private segment. Additionally, Lawrence managed the credit card and personal loan portfolio as a Product Manager. Early career experience includes serving as an Assistant Manager (Investment) at the NUS Entrepreneurship Centre from August 2008 to August 2011, focusing on start-up investment and coaching, and working as an engineer at Chartered Semiconductor from April 2007 to July 2008. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the National University of Singapore.
