Michael Avery

Michael Avery is the President of 1PointFive since June 2021 and has been with Occidental since December 2005, where Michael has held various positions including Vice President of Oxy Low Carbon Ventures and President & General Manager of Permian Resources in the Texas Delaware Basin, leading a significant oil and gas business unit. Michael's experience encompasses managing multi-disciplinary teams for resource field development in New Mexico, growing well inventory, and overseeing operations in South Texas and Colorado. Additionally, Michael has extensive drilling engineering experience in multiple international locations, including supervising drilling operations in Qatar, the UAE, and Oman. Michael holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University and an Executive MBA from Hult International Business School.
