GOA Shut-in Leader

Robert "RJ" Baker is an experienced engineering professional with a robust background in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as GOM Shut-In Lead (Engineering Advisor) at Oxy since April 2021, Baker leads the planning and execution of facility shut-ins and turnarounds for Gulf of Mexico assets, focusing on optimizing planned downtime and enhancing production and health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards. Previously, Baker held various roles at Oxy, including GOM Shut-In Coordinator, and spent nearly a decade at INTECSEA as a Senior Project Engineer, among other positions. Early career experience includes roles at Spring Equipment Co. Inc. as a Project Estimator, Construction Foreman, and Operator. Baker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Maritime Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University Galveston Campus.
