Eric is currently a Senior Advisor to the Department of Homeland Security. He also serves as Adjunct Faculty Member and Research Scholar at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, Director at Iridium Communications, and Director at Under Armour, Inc. Eric retired from the United States Navy in 2011 after more than 38 years of service. He was head of the United States Special Operations Command, responsible for the mission readiness and global deployments of all Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps Special Operations Forces. In this capacity, he led over 60,000 people and managed an annual budget in excess of ten billion dollars. Eric was honored as a Distinguished Graduate of both the United States Naval Academy and the Naval Postgraduate School.
