Ocean Angler is a UK-based specialist distributor of premium saltwater fishing tackle and apparel, founded and led by Jason Hayes.

With a passion for performance gear and years of on-the-water experience, Jason has built Ocean Angler into the official UK distributor for Assassin Tackle — South Africa’s leading rod and tackle brand, trusted by saltwater anglers worldwide. From precision surfcasting rods to innovative slow-pitch jigging and lure gear, Assassin is known for durability, innovation, and elite angling performance — and it’s now available to the UK trade and retail market via Ocean Angler.

We also proudly represent a growing portfolio of specialist South African brands including:

🎯 CiD (Cast In Deep) – Saltwater lures including ShiverSticks, Sprats, Magic Missiles, Foil Bullets, and the legendary Couta Jigs, designed for high-performance casting, trolling and jigging.
🎯 GT Ice Cream – A world-renowned topwater stickbait, unbeatable for aggressive pelagic species.
🎯 Fishing Buddy – High-quality H-Frame carrying systems for rock and surf anglers.
🎯 GVC Cooler Boxes – Rugged, insulated bait and catch coolers, trusted by the South African national angling teams.
🎯 Pirate Lures – Proven jigs and lures for cod, Pollack and wreck fishing, developed and tested in British waters.

As the exclusive UK importer and distributor, Ocean Angler handles logistics, importation, trade supply and marketing support — ensuring that retailers, charter skippers and serious anglers get access to cutting-edge gear previously unavailable in the UK.

We work closely with shops, online retailers, tackle wholesalers, and charter operators to expand access to these innovative products, with trade pricing and support tailored to your needs. Whether you're targeting bass off the beach or cod in 100m of water, our gear is built for performance and reliability.
