Bethlehem Desta

Bethlehem Desta, MSW, currently serves as the Senior Manager and Budget Manager for Sponsored Programs at Ocean Conservancy since April 2022. With a strong background in program and grant management, Bethlehem held the position of Senior Program and Grant Manager at the Ethiopian Community Development Council, Inc. from December 2013 to April 2022, along with roles as Program and Grant Coordinator and Project KNOW - Health Program Coordinator. Previous experience includes working as a Case Manager at the DC Department of Behavioral Health - Multicultural Mental Health Center and as a Staff Assistant at the University of the District of Columbia's Cooperative Extension Service. Bethlehem holds a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of the District of Columbia, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Unity University College.
