Scott Highleyman

Scott Highleyman is a seasoned conservation professional currently serving as Senior Advisor and Vice-President of Conservation Policy and Programs at Ocean Conservancy since January 2017, where efforts include leading Arctic conservation initiatives and campaigns aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from global shipping. Previous experience includes directing the International Arctic Program at The Pew Charitable Trusts from 2009 to 2016, focusing on community-based conservation in northern seas, and serving as Principal at Wildhavens from 1995 to 2008, providing strategic assessments and program evaluations for various philanthropic organizations. Other notable roles include Civic Engagement Director at Focus the Nation, Executive Director at the Alaska Marine Conservation Council, and Staff Attorney at Trustees for Alaska. Highleyman holds a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a BA in English from Williams College.
