Sterling Yee has worked in various roles in the corporate and public sectors. Sterling began their career in 1989 as General Auditor for Hawaiian Electric Industries, Inc. In 2006, they joined the State of Hawaii as Asst. Auditor for the Office of the Auditor. In 2011, they were appointed to the Information Technology Steering Committee Member for the State of Hawaii and Technical Advisor to the Board of Directors for Ho'okele Health Innovations, LLC. From 2012 to 2014, they served as Chief Operating Officer for La Pietra - Hawaii School for Girls, where they were responsible for all financial management and reporting, information technology equipment and infrastructure, and facilities management and maintenance. Sterling also consolidated all endowment assets, successfully implemented a one-to-one iPad program, and completed the design and implementation of a robust network. Since 2014, they have been Director of Strategic Consulting at Oceanit, where they oversee the management consulting and engineering consulting groups, maintains client relationships, and establishes new opportunities. Before the pandemic, they were working closely with the Asian Development Bank in Manila to establish new working relationships in the Asia Pacific region.
Sterling Yee has an MBA from the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business, as well as another MBA from the University of Denver in Finance & Economics.
