Field Operations Manager at Oceanit

Sumil T. has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2008 when they worked as a Student Researcher for Stanford University. In this role, they conducted lab research on the biomechanical properties of Human Skin, restored a dismantled test apparatus, and collected data from numerous stress-strain tests on organic/polymer thin films. In 2009, they took on the role of Residential Assistant for Stanford University Residential Education, where they were responsible for maintaining a healthy and safe living environment within a house of 36 residents, coordinating with a core house staff of five other student managers, and organizing various social bonding events and informational programming. In 2010, they began working for Oceanit, where they have held three roles: Field Operations Manager, Technology Deployment Lead, and Chemical Engineer. As Technology Deployment Lead, they were responsible for planning and execution of product demonstrations, process scale up, and technology deployments of Oceanit products technology solutions, as well as providing supervision, training, and consultation support to customers implementing Oceanit technologies in the field. As Chemical Engineer, they conducted applied materials research and development involving nanomaterials, electrospinning, electrochemical processing, and other specialties, and provided operational oversight of scale up efforts to transition demonstrated lab scale technologies to pilot scale demonstrations in a manufacturing type environment.

Sumil T. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University between 2006 and 2010. In 2011, they earned a certification in EIT Chemical Engineering from the Hawaii Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Landscape Architects. Sumil then went on to receive a Master's Degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa between 2012 and 2013.
