Akshath Hegde

Akshath Hegde has worked in the software engineering and big data engineering fields for over 10 years. In 2010, they were a Captain of the Kabbadi Team and a Team Lead at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, where they designed a solution for Automated Car Parking using Matlab and Image Processing. From 2013 to 2018, they worked at Tayana Software as an Engineer Trainee, Software Engineer, and Associate Team Lead, where they worked on Hadoop, HDFS, SQOOP, PIG, HIVE, and IMPALA, as well as in-house ETL using Java and Perl and in-house ELT using Vertica Database. Akshath also worked as a Talend ETL Tool Developer and Data Warehouse Developer. From 2018 to 2019, Hegde was a Senior Consultant at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Software Engineer III and Software Engineer at Cisco, where they built a solution for IoT sensor data using Big Data Components and a Disaster Recovery for the Data Engine platform, and was responsible for finding root cause analysis and performance optimization. Hegde is currently a Senior Big Data Engineer at Ocient, a position they have held since 2022.

Akshath Hegde began their education in 2002 at Sooral Primary School. Akshath then attended Nirmala High School, Brahmavar, Udupi from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained their High School degree. From 2007 to 2009, they attended Saint Mary's Syrian College, Brahmavara. In 2009, they began their Bachelor's degree(B.E.) in Information Science at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, which they completed in 2013. In 2018, they obtained a PG Diploma in Machine Learning from Great Lakes Institute of Management. In 2020, they obtained a Data Literacy @Cisco Green Belt certification from Cisco.
