John Stracke has worked in the software engineering field since 2001. John began their career at Centive as a Principal Software Engineer, followed by a role as a Principal Software Engineer at Endeca in 2004. In 2006, they moved to Akamai Technologies as a Software Engineer, where they boosted performance from 20,000 queries/second to 60,000. John then joined Famology in 2007 as the Chief Architect. In 2008, they were hired by ITA Software (which was later acquired by Google) as a Hacker. John remained at Google from 2011 to 2020, working as a Senior Software Engineer on the QPX flight search engine. In 2020, they moved to Motional as a Principal Software Engineer, and also began working at Smartsheet as a Senior Software Development Engineer II. In 2022, they began working at both Ocient and Paradigm4 as a Principal Software Engineer and Principal Software Developer, respectively.
John Stracke received their Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Northwestern University between 1986 and 1990. John then attended the University of Chicago from 1990 to 1991, but did not receive a degree. In 2004, they completed a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, which they finished in 2007.
