Joel Burke

Joel Burke has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Joel currently serves as an Executive Committee Member at CAIA Association and as Deputy Chairperson at the Trade and Business Licensing Board - Cayman. Joel is also a Board Member at both the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands and the Housing Repairs Assistance Programme. Previously, Joel worked as the Head of Legal Operations and Financial Controller at Ocorian. Joel also held positions within the Cayman Islands Government, including Financial Services Attaché and Chief Financial Officer. Additionally, Joel was a Board Member at the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands and a Fund Accounting Manager at HedgeServ. Joel started their career as an Assistant Vice President at MaplesFS.

Joel Burke has a diverse education history. Joel obtained a Bachelor's degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting from the University College of the Cayman Islands, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Following that, Joel pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Accounting, Finance & Entrepreneurship at Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, completing the program from 2012 to 2014.

In 2017 and 2018, Joel attended Florida International University, where they earned an Executive Certificate in Global Leadership with a specialization in Organizational Leadership. In 2019, they acquired a Strategic Public Administration Certificate from the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies, focusing on Public Administration.

Additionally, Joel has obtained numerous certifications. Joel completed several programs offered by the CFA Institute, including Commodities and Natural Resources Investments, Hedge Fund Investments, Introduction to Private Markets and Alternative Investments, Private Equity and Private Credit Investments, Private Markets and Alternative Investments Certificate, and Real Estate and Infrastructure Investments, all earned in October 2023. Furthermore, Joel received certifications from the Corporate Finance Institute, such as Capital Markets & Securities Analyst (CMSA)®, Commercial Banking & Credit Analyst (CBCA)®, Commercial Real Estate Finance Specialization, Cryptocurrencies & Digital Assets, Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Specialization, Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA)®, and Financial Planning & Wealth Management (FPWM)™, all obtained in September 2023. Joel also acquired a Certificate in Equity Trading and Sales, a Certificate in Fixed Income Trading and Sales, a Certificate in Technical Analysis from the Canadian Securities Institute in August 2023, and a STEP Certificate in International Trust Management from CLT International in the same month. Moreover, Joel completed the Technical Analysis Course (TAC) and attained certifications in Advanced Derivatives Market Strategies and Advanced Investment Strategies (AIS), all earned from the Canadian Securities Institute in July 2023.
