Ross Canning has been in the software engineering industry since 1993. Ross began their career at Compucat Research Pty Ltd as a Software Engineer, where they worked on the CMS (now called CMX), a client/server messaging system written entirely in C++. Ross then moved to Radioscape as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were part of the team that developed RadioScape's pioneering multiplexing software for digital radio. In 2007, they joined General Dynamics Mediaware as a Principal Software Engineer, where they worked on high-performance, real-time software engineering in C++, QT, Java, Python, and Go. In 2018, they joined Seeing Machines as a Staff Software Engineer, where they worked on cloud-capable data processing tools and a cloud-capable multi-video player. Most recently, in 2020, they joined General Dynamics Mission Systems-Australia as a Senior Software Engineer, where they work on multiple video-editing applications on both Windows and Linux, using C++ and Rust.
Ross Canning completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Computer Science from the University of Canberra between 1990 and 1993.
