Octeters is a software engineering firm. We design and build custom systems for businesses whose operations have grown past what their current tools can support.

The situations we are brought into tend to look similar. Processes that depend on manual steps. Data spread across systems that do not connect. Software adopted years ago that now shapes the business more than it serves it.

We work on a forward deployed engineering model. Rather than gathering requirements from a distance, our engineers spend the first part of every engagement inside the client's operation, working alongside the people who do the work, until we understand the process well enough to know what should be built and, just as importantly, what should not.

The build itself is narrow in scope by design. A first working version is typically in use within weeks, and progress is reviewed with the client every week until handover.

At handover, the client receives complete ownership of the system: source code, infrastructure, credentials, and documentation. Nothing about the engagement requires an ongoing relationship with us to keep the software running.
Part of our assessment is whether custom software is justified at all. When an existing product fits the need, we say so and end the engagement there.

We typically work with owners, partners, operations leaders, and department heads in accounting, legal, healthcare, real estate, field services, and logistics.
